The 3 Blindspots

Have you been through the darkest hour of your life and it almost seems like there’s no glimpse of light at the end of that lonely tunnel? Sometimes you don’t see the light because the fear seems so real in your head that it creates a blindspot of how you’re looking at things. Metaphorically a “scotoma” effect takes place – as you doom yourself with destructive conclusions. Ok, so here are some considerations to think about during these trying times.

The toughest of times will do for you 3 things:

1. First, it shows you WHAT is real to you. A check and balance of reality. You get to establish facts and perspective, probably breaking some unnecessary illusion. If you haven’t been objective with your view – this will be a starting point. It’s a great place to begin – if you look at it with the right attitude. You get to establish WHAT IS?

2. Then, it shows you WHO is real to you. Now, the litmus test for relationships. Let reality tell you who stays in your circle. When the going gets tough, some will find the fastest route out, some will stay and be your rock and some will be Simon Cowell and judge. Either way, this self elimination process will help you make better decisions about who’s who in your life. Be thankful because – sincerity is about be exposed.

3. Finally, it shows you WHAT you are made of…This is where you don’t only get to know your vulnerability, but you get to observe your composure, objectivity, intelligence and everything about you. These are defining moments. Moments that set new trajectories, visions, opportunities and a whole lot of the infinite unknown. This is where you can cultivate the habit of turning things around. Perhaps from this spot, you’ll realise that the light was there all the time – and you were just walking the tunnel with eyes closed.

Existence works in resonance. It sheds off that which does not resonate with you. It prepares you for what is to come with all the existential elements. There is no coincidence. The questions are always – Are we looking at it, as it is? What could we be missing? What is blinding us?

Now, enjoy the adventure and the growth that comes with it.
